Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) implements Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY) for the development of Khadi and Village Industries Sector
- Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY) is a central sector scheme implemented by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), for the development of the Village Industries sub-sector (the Khadi sub-sector is covered by the sister Khadi Vikas Yojana; both together = Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Yojana, KGVY).
- Operates through sub-components such as Honey Mission, Kumhar Sashaktikaran, Charm Karigar (leather), Agarbatti, Handmade Paper — providing tool-kits, training and modern equipment to rural artisans.
- Relevant for UPSC as a case of rural non-farm employment, MSME promotion, Gandhian Khadi vision, and artisan welfare.
