UPGRADATION OF ITIs (PM-SETU) SCHEME

• PM-SETU = Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs — a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to modernise vocational training.
• Total outlay ₹60,000 crore (Centre ₹30,000 cr + State ₹20,000 cr + Industry ₹10,000 cr); 50% of Central share co-financed by ADB and World Bank equally.
• Aims to upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs (Hub & Spoke) and skill 20 lakh youth in 5 years — flagship of PM's ₹2 lakh crore Employment-Skilling Package (Budget 2024-25).
