• PMMSY is the Government of India's flagship scheme for holistic development of fisheries and aquaculture, launched as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat package.
• Implemented by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying for the period FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 with an outlay of Rs 20,050 crore — the highest-ever investment in the sector.
• Anchors the "Blue Revolution" vision: doubling fish exports, generating ~55 lakh jobs, and addressing critical gaps in the value chain.
