ECI deploys over 25 lakh Officials for violence-free, inducement-free elections in 5 States/UTs

• Election Commission of India (ECI) mobilised over 25 lakh officials to conduct the 2026 General Assembly Elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the UT of Puducherry, plus bye-elections in 6 States.
• Ratio of ~1 official per 70 electors across an electorate of 17.4 crore+ — a benchmark of ECI's logistical capacity.
