• Biopharma SHAKTI = Strategy for Healthcare Advancement through Knowledge, Technology and Innovation — a Central Sector Scheme of the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers with a ₹10,000 crore outlay over 5 years to build a globally competitive ecosystem for biologics and biosimilars.
• Aims to shift India from a generics powerhouse to a global biologics/biosimilars manufacturing & innovation hub, with affordable healthcare focus on NCDs (cancer, diabetes, autoimmune).
• Relevant to UPSC for GS-III (Science & Tech, Economy, Health) and GS-II (Govt schemes, health policy).
