General Elections and bye-elections 2026: Assured Minimum Facilities and Voter Assistance to be provided at All Polling Stations

• Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) are a baseline set of poll-day amenities the Election Commission of India (ECI) mandates at every polling station to operationalise the right to vote with dignity.
• Directive issued ahead of the 2026 General Elections to 5 Legislative Assemblies (Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal) and bye-elections in 6 states, covering 2,18,807 polling stations.
• UPSC relevance: tests aspirants on ECI's plenary powers under Article 324, electoral inclusion (PwD, elderly, women), and governance-side service delivery during elections.
