NATIONAL MISSION ON CULTURAL MAPPING AND ROADMAP

• NMCMR is a Ministry of Culture scheme, executed by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), to document, digitise and disseminate the cultural assets of every Indian village.
• Its flagship component is the Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar (MGMD) portal (mgmd.gov.in) — a centralised digital repository of village-level cultural data.
• Significant for UPSC as a convergence case between Culture Ministry + Panchayati Raj under cooperative federalism and for GS-I (Indian Heritage & Culture) factual recall.
