Achievements of EMRSs

• Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) are Central Sector residential schools for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Class VI–XII, implemented by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) via the autonomous body NESTS.
• Flagship vehicle to deliver CBSE-pattern quality education in tribal-dense blocks; mirrors Navodaya Vidyalaya model but for STs.
• High UPSC salience: intersects GS-I (tribal society), GS-II (welfare schemes/Article 46) and current affairs (Budget commitments, Lok Sabha replies).
