‘Mission Shakti’ aims at strengthening interventions for women’s safety, security and empowerment

• Mission Shakti is the integrated umbrella scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) for safety, security and empowerment of women, operational across the 15th Finance Commission cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26).
• Restructured into two verticals — Sambal (safety/security) and Samarthya (empowerment) — by merging multiple legacy schemes.
• One of three umbrella verticals of MWCD (alongside Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 and Mission Vatsalya).
• Examinable for the scheme architecture, components, and constitutional/DPSP linkages (Art. 15(3), 39, 42, 51A(e)).
