• NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) is India's indigenous regional satellite navigation system, formerly IRNSS, operated by ISRO under the Department of Space.
• Provides Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) services over India and a region extending up to 1,500 km from Indian landmass.
• Strategic asset (autonomy from US GPS / Russian GLONASS / EU Galileo / China BeiDou); examinable across GS-III (S&T, internal security) and GS-II (governance).
