Indian Railways Approves Projects worth ₹1,236 Crore to Upgrade Communication and Kavach System

• Indian Railways (Ministry of Railways) approved three projects worth ~₹1,236 crore on 25 March 2026 to upgrade its optical fibre communication backbone and expand Kavach 4.0 ATP coverage.
• Tests railway safety + indigenous technology — relevant to GS-III (Infrastructure, Science & Tech) and prelims schemes/tech segment.
