• India's institutional response to climate-induced farm distress is anchored in the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project of ICAR, supplemented by schemes like PMFBY, PKVY, Soil Health Card and the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
• Tested area: 651 agricultural districts vulnerability-mapped per IPCC protocols; 310 found vulnerable (109 'very high', 201 'highly').
