Government approves 29 more proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS)
- Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) is a Union government incentive scheme to build a domestic ecosystem for passive components, sub-assemblies and supply-chain items that have so far been heavily imported, deepening value-addition beyond final-assembly under PLI/SPECS.
- Notified 8 April 2025 by MeitY with an outlay of ₹22,919 crore and 6-year tenure (+1-year optional gestation); Union Budget 2026-27 raised the outlay to ₹40,000 crore.
- The 30 March 2026 PIB release adds 29 fresh approvals worth ₹7,104 crore investment, ₹84,515 crore production, 14,246 jobs — taking cumulative tally to 75 approvals, ₹61,671 crore investment, 65,040 jobs.
