DELIVERY OF AGRAY – THE FOURTH ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE SHALLOW WATER CRAFT BUILT BY GRSE, KOLKATA

• 'Agray' is the 4th of 8 Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) — Arnala class — indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, delivered to the Indian Navy on 30 March 2026 at Kolkata.
• Class is intended to replace the in-service Abhay-class ASW corvettes and undertake coastal ASW, LIMO and mine-laying operations.
• Significance for UPSC: live example of Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence shipbuilding, Defence PSU (DPSU) capability, Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) classification of warships, and indigenous content in sensors & weapons.
