FOURTH SURVEY VESSEL (LARGE) ‘SANSHODHAK’ DELIVERED TO INDIAN NAVY AT GRSE KOLKATA

• Sanshodhak is the fourth and final ship of the Survey Vessel (Large) [SVL] project, delivered to the Indian Navy on 30 Mar 2026 by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, completing the four-ship class.
• Designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau (WDB) with >80% indigenous content, the class is a flagship Aatmanirbhar Bharat defence shipbuilding output.
• Primary task: full-scale coastal & deep-water hydrographic survey, supporting safe navigation, EEZ mapping, and oceanographic/geophysical data collection for defence & civil use.
