PMAY-G: Advancing Housing for All in Rural India

• Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) is the flagship rural housing scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), aimed at providing pucca houses with basic amenities to all eligible rural households.
• Restructured from Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) in April 2016; Phase II runs FY 2024-25 to 2028-29 with a goal of 2 crore additional houses.
• Cumulative aim: 4.95 crore rural houses by 2029; cornerstone of India's "Housing for All" pledge and Sustainable Development Goal 11.
