PARLIAMENT QUESTION: RARE EARTH CORRIDORS

• Rare Earth Corridors (RECs) are dedicated geographic clusters announced in Union Budget 2026–27 in Odisha, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu for integrated mining, processing, R&D, and manufacturing of rare earth elements (REEs).
• Strategic objective: reduce import dependence on China, build the domestic value chain for permanent magnets feeding EVs, wind energy, defence, and electronics.
• Aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat, Net Zero 2070, and Viksit Bharat @2047.
• Complements the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM, 2025) and the REPM Scheme (₹7,280 cr).
