MoPSW Signs Implementation Plan with KOICA to Boost Skill Development in India’s Shipbuilding Sector

• Bilateral India–South Korea cooperation signed by Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on 2 April 2026 to skill India's shipbuilding workforce.
• Project title: "Support the Establishment of Development Strategies and to Build a Foundation for Skilled and Professional Talents for the Indian Shipbuilding and Marine Sector".
• Operationalises one pillar of Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 (MAKV 2047) — building human capital for a globally competitive shipbuilding ecosystem.
• UPSC relevance: India–Korea ties, blue economy, Sagarmala continuum, skill diplomacy under GS-II/GS-III.
