INS SUNAYNA (IOS SAGAR) ARRIVES AT MALE, STRENGTHENING MARITIME TIES WITH MALDIVES

• INS Sunayna, an Indian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), deployed as Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR, arrived at Malé on 06 Apr 2026 — first port call of her 2026 operational deployment.
• Flagship vehicle of India's SAGAR ("Security and Growth for All in the Region") doctrine, now upgraded by PM Modi to MAHASAGAR ("Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions") announced in Mauritius, Mar 2025.
• Relevance: maritime diplomacy, IOR security architecture, India-Maldives bilateral reset, GS-II (neighbourhood) + GS-III (security).
