Cabinet approves Investment Proposal for construction of 1200 MW Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project in Anjaw District of Arunachal Pradesh with an outlay of Rs.14105.83 crore

• Kalai-II HEP is a 1200 MW run-of-the-Lohit-river hydro project in Anjaw district, Arunachal Pradesh, cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 8 April 2026 at an outlay of ₹14,105.83 crore.
• It is the first hydro project in the Lohit Basin, to be executed by a JV of THDC India Ltd. and Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Examinable as a node in India's NE hydro push, non-fossil 500 GW by 2030 target, and federal hydro-PSU stalled-project revival policy.
