• Consumer Price Index (CPI) on revised base 2024=100 measures retail inflation for India; March 2026 release is among the earliest data points of the new series.
• Released monthly by the National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
• CPI is the headline inflation gauge used by the RBI Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) for its 4% (±2%) flexible inflation target under the RBI Act, 1934 (Sec 45ZA).
