DoT and SEBI Sign MoU to Strengthen Fight Against Telecom-Linked Financial Frauds

• MoU signed on 15 April 2026 between the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to curb misuse of telecom resources in securities-market and investment frauds.
• Operationalises a structured data-sharing pipeline between a sectoral regulator (SEBI) and the telecom regulator's intelligence arm (AI & Digital Intelligence Unit, AI&DIU).
• Relevant for UPSC under GS-III (Cyber Security, Money Laundering) and GS-II (Statutory Regulatory Bodies).
