Inter-Ministerial Briefing on Recent Developments in West Asia

• Inter-Ministerial Briefing is a coordinated Government of India mechanism activated in 2026 to manage the spillover of the West Asia conflict (centred on the Strait of Hormuz) on India's energy security, MSME credit, shipping and diaspora welfare.
• Lead ministries: Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), External Affairs (MEA), Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), and Information & Broadcasting (MIB).
• Examines the whole-of-government response model: crisis coordination, fuel substitution (LPG→PNG/Auto LPG), credit guarantees for MSMEs, and seafarer evacuation — examinable for GS-II (governance, diaspora) and GS-III (energy, internal security, economy).
