INS SUNAYNA ARRIVES AT JAKARTA UNDER INDIAN NAVY’S IOS SAGAR INITIATIVE, STRENGTHENING MARITIME TIES WITH INDONESIA

• INS Sunayna, an Indian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), made a port call at Jakarta on 21 April 2026 as the third stop of its IOS SAGAR (Indian Ocean Ship SAGAR) deployment to the Indian Ocean Region.
• IOS SAGAR is a flagship operational engagement under PM Modi’s MAHASAGAR vision — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions — successor framing to the earlier SAGAR doctrine.
• Examinable for GS-II (India & neighbourhood, bilateral groupings) and GS-III (security of sea lanes); high-density Prelims fodder (acronyms, ports, ship class).
