• A whole-of-government coordination mechanism activated by the Centre during the 2026 West Asia crisis, anchored by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), with daily public briefings via PIB.
• Covers three pillars: (i) energy/fuel supply security, (ii) safety of Indian seafarers & diaspora, (iii) maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
• Relevant for UPSC because it overlays GS-II (diaspora, foreign policy), GS-III (energy security, internal security of sea lanes) and administrative coordination in a live crisis.
