MoSPI Proposes City-Level Statistical Reports for Million-Plus Cities

• MoSPI / NSO plan to issue dedicated city-level statistical reports for 47 million-plus cities (as per Census 2011), leveraging existing PLFS and ASUSE data.
• Two thematic annual outputs proposed: Employment Profile of Million-Plus Cities and City-Level Profile of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises.
• Significant for UPSC: ties together urbanisation, data governance, labour statistics and the informal-sector economy — relevant across GS-II (governance) and GS-III (economy, employment).
