INDIA AND SRI LANKA DEEPEN MARITIME COOPERATION THROUGH IN–SLN DIVEX 2026

• IN–SLN DIVEX is a bilateral diving exercise between the Indian Navy (IN) and Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) focused on specialised underwater operations and submarine rescue interoperability.
• The 4th edition (DIVEX 2026) was held at Colombo from 21–28 April 2026, featuring INS Nireekshak, a Diving Support and Submarine Rescue Vessel.
• Relevant for GS-II (India–Neighbourhood, IOR diplomacy) and GS-III (Maritime security, defence exercises).
