Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Signs 70-Year Lease Agreement for Basmati and Organic Training Centre in Pilibhit

• APEDA, a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has formalised a 70-year lease with the Department of Agriculture and the Government of Uttar Pradesh for a Basmati & Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm at Tanda Bijaisi, Pilibhit (UP).
• Project bundles R&D infrastructure, AICRP designation, and an AI-based Basmati Paddy Survey — examinable as a convergence of export promotion, GI protection, and agri-tech.
• Relevant for GS-III (agriculture, exports, food processing) and Prelims static on APEDA Act, 1985 and Basmati GI.
