• Inter-Ministerial Briefings (IMBs) are a whole-of-government communication mechanism convening MEA, MoPNG, MoPSW, MIB, etc. to publicly reassure citizens and markets during external shocks affecting India's energy, food and trade security.
• Currently triggered by the Iran–Israel conflict (June 2025) and follow-on West Asia volatility (2026) — a region supplying ~40% of India's crude and hosting ~9 million diaspora.
• Tests UPSC themes: energy security, diaspora protection (Operation Sindhu), strategic petroleum reserves, fertiliser supply chain, Strait of Hormuz vulnerability.
