• A whole-of-government inter-ministerial response activated in 2026 to insulate India's energy supply, shipping safety, and citizen safety from the escalating Israel–Iran / West Asia conflict.
• Coordination led by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) with MEA, MoD, DG Shipping, OMCs and Indian Missions abroad.
• Relevance: tests GS-II (India's neighbourhood & diaspora), GS-III (energy security, internal security via SLOCs) and current affairs on Strait of Hormuz exposure.
