• Three rail multitracking (3rd & 4th line) projects approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 5 May 2026, adding ~901 km to Indian Railways, costing ₹23,437 crore, target completion 2030-31.
• Covers 19 districts in 6 states — MP, Rajasthan, UP, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana.
• Aligned with PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity.
• Relevant for Prelims (schemes, geography of corridors) and Mains GS-III (Infrastructure, Logistics, Energy security).
