Joint Statement on Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of India and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

• Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (ECSP) is the new, upgraded tier of India–Vietnam bilateral ties announced during the State Visit of Vietnamese General Secretary & President H.E. To Lam to India from 5–7 May 2026.
• It supersedes the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) of 2016, signalling deeper convergence on Indo-Pacific security, defence, rare-earths, semiconductors and digital cooperation.
• Important for UPSC as a live example of India's Act East Policy, SAGAR/MAHASAGAR vision, and ASEAN-centric Indo-Pacific architecture.
