Strong public adoption of new Aadhaar App, 21 million downloads in three months

• Aadhaar App is the next-generation mobile application by UIDAI under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), enabling paperless identity sharing, consent-based authentication and selective disclosure of personal data.
• Crossed 21 million downloads in three months, with 28 lakh mobile number updates and ~6 lakh address updates done via the App.
• Relevant to UPSC for Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), e-governance, data protection (DPDP Act, 2023) and Aadhaar Act, 2016 themes.
