DRDO & IAF successfully conduct maiden flight-trial of Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation weapon

• TARA (Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation) is India's first indigenous glide-weapon kit that converts dumb (unguided) warheads into precision-guided, range-extended munitions.
• Designed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad under DRDO, jointly trialled with the Indian Air Force (IAF).
• Relevant for UPSC under defence indigenisation (Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Defence) and precision-strike technology.
