India–Canada Joint Statement on the Conclusion of the Second Round of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) Negotiations

• CEPA = Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement: a wide-ranging FTA covering goods, services, investment, IP, rules of origin and standards, being negotiated bilaterally between India and Canada.
• Second round concluded 4–8 May 2026 at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, hosted by the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
• Relevant for UPSC GS-II (bilateral relations) & GS-III (external sector / trade policy); part of India's push to expand FTA architecture beyond UAE, Australia and EFTA.
