From village roads to the pace of development under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership: 25 years of PMGSY, now a new resolve with PMGSY-IV
- PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) is a 100% Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development to provide all-weather road connectivity to unconnected rural habitations.
- Launched on 25 December 2000, the scheme is completing 25 years (silver jubilee) in 2025-26, with PMGSY-IV approved by the Cabinet for FY 2024-25 to 2028-29.
- Aspirants must master phase-wise targets, eligibility population thresholds (varies by terrain/LWE/tribal), and the convergence with PM-JANMAN for PVTGs.
