• Tripartite MoU among HD KSOE (South Korea), NSHIP-TN (SPV of VoCPA + SIPCOT), and Sagarmala Finance Corporation Ltd (SMFCL) to set up India's first mega greenfield shipyard at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu with 2.5 million GT annual capacity.
• Operationalises the India–ROK 'VOYAGES' Partnership in shipbuilding and feeds the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 (MAKV) target of placing India among the top-5 shipbuilding nations.
• UPSC relevance: intersects GS-II (bilateral – India-Korea), GS-III (infrastructure, shipbuilding, Sagarmala), and current affairs PSU/scheme architecture.
