Rajasthan gets its first Semiconductor Plant

• Sahasra Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd. commissioned an ATMP/OSAT (Assembly, Testing, Marking & Packaging / Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly & Test) facility at Salarpur, Khushkhera, Bhiwadi (Rajasthan) — the state's first semiconductor unit and India's first SME-led commercial semiconductor production line.
• Inaugurated alongside an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) developed by ELCINA (Electronic Industries Association of India) at the same site.
• Sanctioned under MeitY's SPECS scheme (Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors); investment >₹150 crore.
• High UPSC salience: maps to GS-III (industrial policy, science & tech, infrastructure) and the broader India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) push for self-reliance in chips.
