Prime Minister receives the Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross in Sweden

• Royal Order of the Polar Star (Kungliga Nordstjärneorden) — one of Sweden's oldest civil orders, conferred on PM Modi at the Commander Grand Cross degree in Gothenburg on 17 May 2026 by HRH Crown Princess Victoria.
• Sweden's highest honour conferred on foreign Heads of Government — frames a UPSC GS-II topic on India's growing basket of foreign state honours and India-Sweden Strategic Partnership.
• Award presented during PM's 5-nation tour (UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Italy, 15–20 May 2026), the leg that also produced the India-Sweden Strategic Partnership and Joint Action Plan 2026–2030.
