Proposed anti-doping law amendments to criminalise organised doping activities placed for public consultation
- Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has placed draft amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022 in the public domain (21 May 2026) to criminalise organised doping ecosystems — traffickers, suppliers, syndicates, support personnel — while shielding athletes from criminal prosecution.
- Marks India's shift from a purely regulatory/sanctions regime (under NADA) to a penal-law regime targeting the supply side of doping.
- Relevant for GS-II (governance, statutory bodies) and GS-III (sports, internal security – organised crime).
