• Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is a Tokyo-based intergovernmental body (est. 11 May 1961) promoting productivity in the Asia-Pacific; India is a founding member.
• India hosted the 68th Session of the Governing Body Meeting (GBM) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi (20–22 May 2026) as outgoing APO Chair (2025–26).
• Examines for UPSC: international organisations India belongs to (GS-II), productivity & manufacturing (GS-III), and DPIIT-led economic diplomacy.
