Ministry of Panchayati Raj conducts Training of Trainers Program under ‘Nirbhay Raho’ Initiative to strengthen Women’s Safety in Rural Areas

• Nirbhay Raho is a Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) initiative launched in March 2026, funded through the Nirbhaya Fund, to strengthen women's safety in rural India via capacity-building of elected Panchayat representatives.
• Targets coverage of ~32 lakh elected Panchayat representatives (≈14.5 lakh women + ≈17.5 lakh men) across India through three sub-components.
• UPSC relevance: intersection of 73rd Amendment / local self-government, women's empowerment, gender-based violence, and Nirbhaya Fund architecture — high yield for GS-II.
