General NS Raja Subramani assumes charge as Chief of Defence Staff & Secretary, Department of Military Affairs

• General NS Raja Subramani, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM took over as the third Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) on 31 May 2026.
• Succeeds General Anil Chauhan (2nd CDS), whose extended tenure ended 30 May 2026.
• Relevant to UPSC under Higher Defence Reform, Civil-Military integration, Theatre Commands, Aatmanirbharta in Defence.
