Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education launches applications for the Prime Minister Research Chair (PMRC) Scheme 2026

• PMRC Scheme 2026 is a flagship initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education to attract accomplished Indian-origin researchers, scientists, technologists from globally reputed institutions to premier Indian HEIs, national labs, and research centres.
• Aims to convert brain drain into brain gain by linking global Indian talent with India's R&D and innovation ecosystem across 13 thematic areas of national priority.
• Relevant for UPSC under Science & Technology, Education policy, Diaspora engagement, and NEP 2020 implementation themes.
