• WAVES OTT is Prasar Bharati's free public-service over-the-top streaming platform, launched at the 55th IFFI, Goa in November 2024.
• Crossed 1 crore (10 million) registered users on 2 June 2026, < 2 years post-launch.
• Significance for UPSC: intersection of public broadcasting, digital sovereignty, soft power, indigenous OTT ecosystem, and IT-broadcast convergence under MIB.
