From reducing oil imports to farmer prosperity: Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri launches first Flex-Fuel passenger vehicle

• On 4 June 2026, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched India's first Flex-Fuel passenger vehicle, manufactured by Maruti Suzuki, in New Delhi.
• Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) can run on any ethanol–petrol blend from E20 to E100.
• Significant for UPSC: ties together Energy Security, Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Ethanol Blending Programme (EBP), farmer income, and low-carbon mobility.
