- E85 is a high-ethanol blended fuel (80–85% ethanol + 14–19% petrol) meant exclusively for Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFVs); rolled out on World Environment Day, 5 June 2026 at an IndianOil retail outlet, New Delhi, by Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
- Marks India's transition beyond E20 (the current statutory blending ceiling) toward high-blend ethanol mobility, advancing energy security, farmer income, and decarbonisation simultaneously.
