APEDA Facilitates First Export of Fresh Mangoes from Jharkhand to United Kingdom

• APEDA, a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, flagged off the first commercial consignment of fresh mangoes from Jharkhand to the United Kingdom on 4 June 2026 in Kolkata.
• Demonstrates convergence of three UPSC-relevant themes: agri-export diversification, Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) as rural enterprise vehicles, and women-led tribal-belt economic empowerment.
• 1.5 MT of Amrapali mangoes sourced from an all-women FPC in Simdega (a tribal-majority district) — a textbook GS-III "agriculture marketing + value chain" case.
