• Tripartite MoU signed between the Government of India, Government of Assam and Government of Nagaland in the presence of Union Home & Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah to facilitate mineral oil (hydrocarbon) operations in the Assam–Nagaland inter-state boundary belt — a zone where exploration has been frozen for decades due to the unresolved boundary dispute.
• It unlocks a long-disputed hydrocarbon corridor; UPSC relevance spans cooperative federalism, inter-state disputes (Art. 263), energy security, and Northeast peace architecture.
