Historic Milestone: First batch of women cadets trained at NDA commissioned into Defence Forces
- First-ever batch of women cadets who completed full tri-service training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla has been commissioned as officers of the Indian Armed Forces in June 2026.
- Culminates a process triggered by the Supreme Court's August 2021 interim order in Kush Kalra v. Union of India, which forced the UPSC to open the NDA entrance to women.
- UPSC-relevant as a convergence point of gender justice, judicial activism, defence reforms and the integration of women into combat and combat-support arms.
